Mafia Wars Profile Links

Dec 10, 2009. It has come to my attention that copying a player link from the player update tab within mafia wars has stopped working. I have changed the instructions below to reflect the current working method to obtain a link from within mafia wars

Ever wonder how to view someone’s mafia profile when they post on the message boards? Maybe you’ve wanted to send someone a message or a friend request who shows up in your mafia wars game?
To some the logic behind this is simple. Everyone has a facebook ID number. This ID number is also your Mafia Wars ID number. By editing the URL in your browser with someone’s ID you can view them in either facebook or mafia wars.
To simplify the process I’ve created an easy tool to allow even the novice computer user the ability to easily view anyone’s mafia or facebook profile. It will even generate an Add To Mafia link so you can bypass the send request feature even if their status isn’t set.
STEP 1
Getting the subjects link
Right Click on the subject and select “Copy Shortcut” in IE or “Copy Link Location” in Firefox
From Facebook
You can copy someone’s profile link in facebook from your friends list, from their profile url, or from the message boards. The below image is taken from the message boards.
If that doesn’t work, visit thier profile and copy the Send Message link under their picture.
From Mafia Wars
You can copy someone’s profile link in Mafia Wars When you are viewing a Player’s Profile. Simply copy the Profile, Attack, or Sucker Punch link with the same result.
If you see that someone attacked you in the Player Update window, click their name to bring you to the profile screen.
Then from the profile screen Right Click on the Profile, Attack, or Sucker Punch links and copy the link. FireFox calls it “Copy Link Location”. Internet Explorer calls it “Copy Shortcut”
STEP 2
Open the Mafia Wars Quick Links Toolbar located at http://www.mafia-wars-tips.info/fb
STEP 3
Paste your URL from step 1 into the text box located at the lower left of the screen. You can do this by right clicking in the text box and selecting paste.
STEP 4
Click GO
STEP 5
On the right hand side of the screen you will be shown the User ID# of the subject and given three links. One to view their facebook profile, one to view their mafia wars profile, and one to add to mafia. Note: if the User ID # is blank try going back to step 1 again.
The add to mafia link is the same as clicking on someone’s add me link in their profile. It bypasses the need to send an invite through mafia wars. By using this link you don’t have to wait for anyone to accept your invite. If they are facebook friends and they play mafia wars they will be immediately added to your mafia. You may have to click on My Mafia afterwords for the number of mafia members to refresh.
Just click on one of the three links and you will be taken to the correct place!

I had been able to view the id of ppl who attacked me as their facebook name is highlighted if you hover the mouse over their profile picture. I couldn’t work out how to find the id of people who hitlisted me as it just gives a name.

David, you are correct, the custom URL won’t give you the profile ID number. When you run into one of those you need to visit the profile then copy the Send a Message link located below the picture. That will give you the ID number.

I’m having a hard time with this and I really want to figure it out. When I click on the link for mafia war’s tips and such it pops me back to my page on Mafia War’s? Help!

the “Add to Mafia” feature doesn’t seem to work anymore. Did FB change something?
They keep breaking it and later fixing it. Sometimes it will break and fix several times a day, sometimes it stays broken for days or weeks.
How do I make it so my picture is not showing and they can’t get my name by hovering over the picture? No real name just my mafia name and the blank picture?

I tried the above method. I can view someones mafia wars profile but have not been successful adding them to my mafia even though they are on my friends list and play mafia wars.
Adding a friend to your mafia doesn’t work when out of requests. But it’s a nice toolbar. Thanks…
